12A emissions and Choke Questions

I'm putting a 12A into a MG midget and am deleting the vaccum solenoid rail, and therefore the rats nest. My removal method was if it had a conector comming from the non esential wireing (Not the 5 or so wires running from/to the distributer from the coils), or hooked up to the vaccume solenoid rail it obviously wouldn't function on my aplication, so it's off the island. Now the things that have me stumped are the Clear ish lines running all over the carb (seems to be a self contained unit) and the choke. The Choke is a masive system with multiple cables, and one 12V positive. Is it heated? can i remove everything and just use the cable to make it a full manual choke? Also what do you guestamate my chances or of this thing running without all that crap on it with the stock Nikki carb intact with all vaccum holes pluged. it will eventualy be Fuel injected via megasquirt, but i'd like to get it running for movement/testing purposes.

Thanks for you help.

I'll post pics of this beast sometime in the other rotary section but figured this would be best handled in the first gen section. If i'm wrong please feel free to move it.
