Exclamation 12a Blowthrough not running correctly...

Hey everyone. So I've built a turbo set up out of my 83 gs and got it running, but it has issues. I'm looking for any ideas to fix this.. Pretty much it is letting me slightly give it throttle, anything over that and it bogs, with the AFR rocketing off the lean side. It will not build boost, the bog happens under load while the vacuum is approaching 0.

If I gradually open the throttle and let the AFR catch up I can accellerate and merge into traffic. Anything other than a large split in the traffic, where I can take my time, I will not attempt. Travelling (Merging!) on the highway is out of the picture. It cannot accellerate faster than a snail's pace without bogging.. Ok, I think you guys get the picture.

The carb was rebuilt and prepped with a suggessted base jet set by Robert @ Rotary Shack a few years ago. I will get the jet list posted on here soon. I would think that the jets are good to get the car running a lot better, I think my float and acc. pump settings are way off and causing the majority of any problems the carb is contributing to the current running situation.. I have been adjusting fuel pressure anywhere between 3-5psi.

Here's the build list:

Fuel
GSL-SE tank (cleaned and lined)
-8 Feed all the way
-6 Return all the way
Walbro 255lph (10ga wire)
Aeromotive RRFPR 1:1 (model#13301)

Ignition
MSD 6AL
2nd gen leading coil (direct fire)
NGK B9ES (gapped 15 thousanths)
Locked dizzy set 10 deg advance w/ 5 deg split

Intake
OER 45 sidedraft (weber style)
FMIC

Oil
FMOC
Turbo oil feed from ReSpeed pedistal

Turbo
Turbonetics hybrid s4 turbo
-10 oil drain to front cover

Other
RB downpipe and 2 1/2" straight through to Magnaflo in the rear
AEM UEGO Wideband AFM
Oil pressure gauge
Boost gauge
TurboXS bov
Relocated battery behind passenger seat
Power distribution panel (work in progress and deffinately would appreciate any comments good or bad)

So what I am actually suspecting is that I am getting TOO much fuel, contrary to my AFR read out. This would explain the bog, and the fact that I have been getting about 6mpg when I drive it (no fuel leaks). I did take a look at the O2 sensor after a drive and there was no evidence that it was saturated in fuel. So I am stumped. I am not sure how the car got this far out of wack but I have never gotten it to drive correctly and need your help.

i would take the carb apart and go through nd give it a solid cleaning. check and make sure you have the correct floats (nitophyl). what jet size are you running. need some more info.... have you messed with the timing?

Search rotaryshack in the feedback forum. This will motivate you to tear the carb down and start learning before you blow things up.

Timing is set 10deg advanced with 5deg trailing split. Locked Dizzy. The floats are nitophyl.

I would say that one of the jets is clogged with gunk or the accel pump is not functioning. I've been having similar problems lately.

The only grime I could find in the carb was a tiny bit of sediment at the bottom of the float bowl. I am going to rebuild the carb anyways..

I will post an update and more pics tomorrow.

just a few things I see from your post.
clean the carb totally, make sure you have fresh fuel and the pressure is set correctly. are you having fuel starvation from lack of fuel pressure? next, you have a fixed dist. set it at 24 to 26 degrees at 4k rpm. if you do not have a degree timing light look in the search function to find out how to index the pulley for timing marks. this is very conservative timing but with boost you need to be very carefull of timing as this could cause predet and seal failure, creep up on it slowly. Also are you running any detienion superissors such as water or meth injection. do the search function my friend you will find answers, I will ad mit I am not the best with boost but have been learning as you will over time. just my .02 worth
