12a auto to manual swap
Okay, I've got a 5 speed car and lookin at getting an auto motor. To convert the motor, is all you need the flywheel and front counterweight from a 5 speed engine? Excluding certain emissions stuff on the intake...

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
the front counterweight is for the front rotor.... the rear counterweight is for the rear rotor... don't touch the front counterweight!!!also make sure you use the proper flywheel or else your motor will have bad vibrations!!, as the rear will not be balenced!

well, I'm doing the opposite..... Manual to an automatic
I have *SOME* automatic parts I could sell ya....
My car is an 85 by the way.
However alot of them are going to pineapple racing, such as the drivewheel, and the counterweight. But I have the auto shifter and the interior stuff....

no thanks on the auto parts. i refuse to put an automatic when I got a manual tranny. bleeehhhh
Okay, 680rwhp12a. ****, I just realized when you said that. The rotors/flywheels are different weights for the years. I think this motor I'm lookin at is a 83 and I got a 84 motor.
I didn't know there was a rear counterweight. ???? You mean just the flywheel, right? Can't I just find a flywheel for a 83 and I'm good to go? That'd be even easier... (excuding the nut buster bolt holding on the flywheel/flexplate...)

wait, the rear counterweight is attached directly to the flywheel, right?
BTW, how can you tell by looking at an engine what year it is? I know that the water/air oil cooler was available in 84-85. What about differentiating between 79-83 motors?
