some people swear their junk but I put falken ZE-502's (one of only 2 brands of reasonably priced 205/60 r 13's I could find) and sofar they seem pretty good......nice and sticky and no noise yet but I haven't had the chance to try them in the rain. They also say they suck real bad in the snow but last time I saw any snow here was about 10 years ago.

They're cheap AND good. They also come in a better size for the 5.5 inch rim, which is 195/60/13. Far less sidewall flex with that size compared to the 205/60/13's.

Trust me, I've used both and I'll never go back to the 205's again.

I had 205/60/13's on my 82' gsl back in the day. Doesn't more rubber on the road mean better traction? How bout a 195 in front and 205 in rear?

More rubber on the road does equal better straighline traction, but since the wheels on the RX-7 are only 5.5 inches wide, a 205 series tire will have around two inches of unsupported sidewall. That's what ruins the handling. A 195 has less unsupported sidewall and will be better for cornering. In truth the best tire size for cornering on our wheels would be a 185/60/13, but that looks pretty short compared to the stock wheel/tire combo and leaves a very large gap.
