10a fuse for the parking lights shorted?
I'm wondering/hoping this may be a common problem and someone can steer me in the right direction.
84 gs bone stock-daily driver.
The 10a fuse for the parking lights, dash lights, glove box/ bin lights and head light motors keeps popping as soon as you turn on the parking lights.
The problem started over a month ago the first time the fuse blew I replaced it, it lasted a week from there it got worse until in it just pops instantly.
I have not added or removed anything electrical or mechanical recently.I just drive it .
I have the FSM and spent all day yesterday trying to find this short.
I have disconnected both the head light motor's all the parking lights. I replaced the switch assembly from the column. Removed the fuse block and fallowed the red/blue wire for the 10a fuse as fare as possible without removing the entire dash.
Removed the driver kick panel, driver seat fallowing the harness back to the tail lights. I still need to remove the interior over the driver side wheel well to check it.
entertaining all possible causes you can think of..
Thanks in advance

So you unplugged everything turn the parkers on and it still blows? If it didn't, then I'd be plugging things back in one by one, when it blows you've found the problem area.
Have you replaced any globes/bulbs lately? Fitting a double contact bulb into a single contact housing or vice versa can cause problems.

Found it
Well I found my short!
The wire harness that goes down the driver side rocker panel through the bin and over the wheel well was pinched between the bin and the wheel well. This was due to some rust blistering that expanded the metal and pinched the wires. It pinched through the protective plastic u channel and into about six wires out of the harness.
Easy fix once I found it.
Other then the rust repair I will need to do. I was surprised the rest of the car is really clean and the rust isn't to bad but it was enough to cause me problems.
So If you have a similar Issue and live in a area where vehicles tend to rust , Remove the bin and check here first it could save you a bunch of time.
