0-60 time

Ok I guess this is not the best way to test acceleration, but my 84 gsl-se got 0-60 in 8.3 with my brother and I in it. I launched at about 2700. (I have good tires, but I don't want to launch to high because I like my drivetrain.) Is this an ok time. I will go to the 1/8 mile one of these days.

Car and Driver tested the GSL-SE in 1984 and got it to 60mph in 7.8 seconds. It also ran the quarter mile in 15.9 @ 86 mph. Not bad for a 19 year old car eh?

Thats a real good time. Especially at the rpm you launched it at. How did you test the 0-60 time.

When I launched my bother started the stopwatch, and when I hit 60 he stopped. I don't have a g-tech or I would have used it. What rpm should I launch at and should I feather the clutch?
