If that's all the exhaust porting you're doing, you're wasting your time. Nice job on the center caps.

Looks good man, keep it up! I can't wait to see more progress-especially the interior!

As for the exhaust porting, get a good template to practice it on your old housings. I haven't ported a rotary yet, but I'm working on it. There's plenty of theads on this forum that can lead you in the right direction, as long as you know what you want from the engine, I'm sure you can find a reputable place around there to get your template from, or you could just pay a bit more in shipping to have RB, Pineapple Racing, or Mazdatrix to send you one. Check out some of the threads on exhaust porting here to see what you'll want to end up with...

Good luck on the project, it looks like we're both at about the same point with ours-FAR FROM FINISHED! Keep up the good work!

Did you put a coating of water on the manifold to make it look shinny?

I've polished a lot of aluminum, and I've never seen a un-natural shine like that, looks like it has a clear coat on it.

Plus you can see where water has gathered around the bolt holes

according to local law, I cant recieve ta package that big on the regular mail. It has to go through a courier that handles the paperwork. (pays a lot of taxes)

To be able to get it that way, the forwarder in miami has to take care of that. The same way I got your center console

Being an item SO BIG, I want a price quote from the courier. They wont answer my freaking mails

I sent them the measures, weight, declared value, destination, etc. Still no answer. I cant send it without knowing because they could tell me "here you go, its a thousend bucks"

First of all I have to thank Marc at JHB for all the help he provided. Without him I probably would be a long long long long way from having a running 7. Marc really went the extra mile to help me out.

I got these in 2005, but due to the wonderfull world of south american customs restrictions, I got them ........ yesterday

Before you guys mention it, one of the housings looks brand new, the other does have a few things but nothing that could compromise compression.

This 12a housings seem to be from a 79 or 80 engine right? Mine is 81 and Im not familiar with these. I know I should plug the holes for gas recirculation, but... should I remove the sleeve? Im not sure how to port these.

That brings another question: can you port coated housings? I dont want the coating to flake

Finish is a lil to shiny for my taste but, oh well, we dont get many of the cool products you guys have avail there. I even had to special order the rust-oleum
