Rear Spring Help

ok club..here's the deal...I'm having issues with tire rub inside my rear fenders..I'm running 225/50/15's and i do have a Mariah widebody kit<see picture> Now here's my thought...I've already got Koni Reds at all corners and I've dialed up the rears as firm as they go so I'm thinking about running a set of racing beat springs, and I know that they'll drop the car about an inch, and as it stands with the stock springs there's really not another inch of clearance. so to the question...do we think that my 25 year old springs are sagging a bit and if I put on the RB's it won't actually drop any lower??? Whadya think?

Where, exactly, do the tires rub? If they are rubbing on the backside of the fender opening, wheel spacers may be all that's needed.
The stock springs could easily be sagging enough that new RB springs will indeed make the car sit higher. RB springs are also stiffer than stock, which means there will be more resistance to allowing the body/axle to have enough movement for the rubbing to occur.

Highly plausible. In fact the RB springs could possible raise the ride height depending upon how much your current springs are sagging

Looking at your photo my RB springs have the car sitting at almost the exact same ride height. Plus the increased spring rate, and I think you'll be fine.

when i installed the RB springs on my car it raised it a little. id say go with them. worst case scenario; they cause problems, you remove them and sale them to someone on the forum.

I also have a Mariah kit on a GSL-SE chassis. The chassis has Suspension Techniques springs and Tokico adjustable shocks. Although Jim Hagerty at Mariah provided offset figures for my wheels, the fenders sit right on top of the tires. (I have 245 x 50 x 16 tires on 9-inch wide wheels.) It may be that any wheels larger than stock just can't live there. As soon as I get my car back from the body shop, I'm going to take it to a good shop with racing experience, Bret dePedro's Rotary Performance, and let him analyze what I've got a make recommendations.

If you have a good shop, close to you, you may want to do the same.

Also, there's a PM headed your way.
