Question ***tranny Mount***

i think this is whats the problem with the car.

It "shakes" at idle.

Has a hard vibration increases as rpm's increase not to-to significant though but @ 5500-6000 the vibration is significant. It goes away after 6000.

How do i check the engine mounts???

where do i get a tranny mount?

What about using a "HOCKEY PUCK AS A ENGINE MOUNT"?????

any sugestions on how to find the problem???????

thanks

My car had same problem and it was a broken clutch disc a chunk broke off and was jammed completly 180 degrees on the other side causing the same vibe that also went away at 6700rpm. Also if you have a non matching set of counterbalance weights
( Flywheel and front E-shaft weights have to be a matched set or you will have the"vibe"). A friend of mine had that problem after combining a bunch of parts from other motors. Please dont dimiss these suggestions like I did only to find out HOURS later it was my disc.

I have the same thing at idle, except it goes away as soon as I'm on the gas at all.

My plan is to replace the motor mounts. To check them, take them out and see if you can compress them by hand. If you can, they're pretty worn. If they're original, they probably need to be replaced. As for the tranny mount, all I've found is a rear tranny mount or something. No front tranny mount, so I'm not sure what the deal is there, but either way, I found the rear tranny mount and motor mounts at Mazdatrix.
