$350 for hub swap?

I priced a set of hub's for $350 from a junk yard off a 2nd gen. That includes hub's, caliper's, & rotor's. Is that a good price?

They're off a second gen and are going onto my 84 GS project racer. Im not sure how many piston's they are. I believe they're coming off a 2nd gen GS as well, but I could be wrong.

This is not a straight swap, no 2nd gen parts bolt straight up to 1st gen, so unless you're going to do some major engineering or purchase some kits that are out there, forget it, especially seeing as you dont even know which parts they are.

Also that is not a great price, Unless they are new/newer parts. If from a junkyard then way to much. Me I would sale you from the Hat to the bottom with everything inbetween for $200.

Shipping is a pain on this type of stuff though

5 bolt, 4 pot

For racing you definitely want the 5 bolt hubs. All 2nd gen cars with 5 bolt hubs have the aluminum 4 pot calipers, which are very high quality. You will need an adapter bracket for the caliper and an adapter for the axle. Someone here on the forum sells these parts for a reasonable price, just make a search for something about a group buy for these recently. Stay away from CP racing, or you may be too old to race when your parts arrive.

The 5 bolt pattern is a 4 1/2 inch bolt circle, fits many Ford, Toyota and others, so you have about a million wheels to chose from. Be advised that you will need a wheel spacer for the fronts if you use stock 2nd gen wheels.

I did my own conversion, and you can see the details here:

i just got 5 lug hubs, 4 piston calipers, and brake lines off of ebay for around $50 shipped. i got all new bearings for $20. the most expensive thing will be the brake pads and rotors. just look around. dfinately dont buy from that junkyard. there are guys in the 2nd gen for sale section selling full front and rear set ups for around $200.
