PA Quick Update

Small update on past few months. My rear end swung out one night and kinda messed up the very expensive Mariah Mode 1 front end. Nothing else in the car got messed up since I just went into a grass bank. The bumper was in like 4 pieces or so. After I got over the fact that it was going to be hard to repair, I got to doing some fiberglass work and got it all back together. After that I realized that I might as well do all the body work that needs to be done in one shot. So as of right now the car is half sanded down and almost all the body panels I could get off are off. I also did some interior work today since it rained about 5" or so here in Lancaster today and I can't sand in the garage. It's looking good so far and I think I'm going to be going white as the final color. Here's what I want it to look like...

That's all for now, picture updates soon and video update soon too.

My 2¢...

When you do paint it, I hope it's not all monochromatic white like the
sample you posted. That just looks like a lazy paint job that they
decided to paint everything instead of properly removing trim pieces or taping them off.

I know, sorry no pictures, I just haven't had time to grab any, I will today. And I plan on doing the paint job to the best of of my ability. We've done it once before and it turned out not too bad and we learned some small lessons. And all the trim and body panels are off that can be off, so they will black, like around the windshield and door frame. So far it's coming along nicely, just soo many hours are spent sanding, I hate it but it's worth it. That's all for the moment, pictures tonight!

I will grab pictures tonight for everyones viewing pleasure. The reason I don't want to go with black is because there are so many black widebodies out there (even though they look amazing!), you guys might be able to persuade me on a different color though depending on what pictures happen to show up in the thread... I also do like the lip on the white one I posted above, I'm pretty much going to have one of those.

but to do black the body has to be flawless as the darker colors draw more attention to the flaws lighter colors such as white are more forgiving, crap here in Vegas 8 out of 10 vehicles seem to be white lol blah

Yeah, one of my problems is that I know for a fact it won't be perfect so that's another reason I kind of want to go with white. Red for some reason doesn't appeal to me, yellow is just what I had, but I do like yellow, dark blue is nice, but too close to black and it would show the blemishes, silver might be alright, any other opinions?

Here's a perfect black widebody...

This white looks good...

Silver?

White paint is also fairly cheap but I might be able to get some for free from a friend, but we will see what happens..

my opinion for whatever it's worth with the widebody it's a more aggressive look and a darker color would be awesome maybe a blood red or gunmetal but practically maybe white is the way to go. how many coats of paint and how many coats of clear to you intend on applying?

White is fine, so is yellow. - just make sure that the trim that is supposed to be black, stays black. When you paint the windshield trim, door handles, etc the same color as the car, - it looks like ****.

Yup, I'm with you 100%, my one door handle is yellow, and it looks horrible, and most of the black trim is yellow. I don't know what he was thinking.

Get one! I love the look of the flares, subtle and not too big yet they add a lot to the car.
