When you tell everyone you know to stop telling you when they spot an rx-7 for sale, since you already bought 3 in the last month, and know you won't be able to say no to the next one either.

This applies to rotery owners in general.

Was looking for new spark plugs for my fb and was quoted 26$ per one at napa, so decided to check a cheaper suplier, Canadian Tire, it's store that has everything you want for home and sells car parts and does repair inspection jobs as well.
So i go to the parts clerk and ask him if he has any sparks for an 83 mazda rx-7, didn't give him specific spark brands as i wanted to know what they had in general for that car.
SO he checks his computer, looks at me and with a streight face and tells me:

"Thats a rotery engine, it does not have spark plugs"

Nothing is better than confusing the hell out of the parts guy when you tell him, "I need a performance camshaft for my two rotor" One guy was almost pulling his hair out trying to find the part that didn't exist.

Scratches and tears add character. It means the car gets used.

whenever you get tired of people telling you the same old stories "is that a rotary engine?, yeah i had one/a buddy of mine used to have one back in the day, i don't know what happened we just couldn't get it running so we got rid of it"

one of the coolest stories was my Chemistry professor. she was a total biatch, one day she started talking about how she was gonna be a model and how she was so pretty she got out of a speeding ticket by flirting with the cop. she was doing 110mph on a 45, she owned an 83, she'd swapped a 20b in from her cosmo. sad part is she flipped it and it was a total loss she hurt her back and couldn't do modeling anymore. we became pretty good friends after that...i guess once you go wankel you never go back.

when you are thinking of taking off parts from your working fb, just to get your new fb on the road in it's best condition.

When getting a divorce means you can now collect more parts cars without listening to anyone complain.

When your boss makes you go to AA because you have a "problem" buying every rotary vehicle you see.

When your neighbor wonders how many people live with you because there are more cars on your property than parking spaces.

Your neighbors think you're a sadist because each morning at 5 a.m. they awake to the eardrum-shattering exhaust blast of your RX7 starting cold with the choke pulled out all the way. And they never understand why you keep doing this.

When you realize that Royal Purple gear lube doesn't stink up the interior as bad as regular gear oil.

on a similar vein

When you can tell if the car's running on synthetic engine oil or not, just from the exhaust smell.

and also

When your wife comments that the car in front of you on the freeway "smells like a -7."

I didn't know this. I need to throw in some Royal Purple next time I replace the tranny oil, I just did a clutch job and I've been squirting the interior with Febreze once in a while.

My contribution:

When you go to a go kart track and the smell reminds you of your 7.

When you finaly put your first rx-7 up for sale but deep down hope that no one will buy it, as there is still so much you want to do with it, even though you have other ones as well.
