Video of my 7 running

Hello,

Here are two videos of my 7 running a couple weeks before I pulled the engine for a rebuild...

Note: If your exhaust looks like this you really should pull your engine and fix it before you do some irreversible damage

Have a good one

enjoy!

Wow, that's scary. How did you get that around without getting pulled over by the cops?

He used a smoke screen to get away from the cops. Reminds of the game spy hunter with all that smoke.

Sooo were those videos shot with the choke on? And if so, why were you revving the engine that high when it was cold(assuming the 1st video was at warm up)? What were your findings upon disassembly?

The choke is not hooked up anymore, it has an electric choke on the holley carb.

The first video was after it had run for about 5 mins... took a little while to find my camera again.

The choke automatically disengages when it reaches a certain temp(really bad for hot starts) or i can shut it off by revving it before it reaches that temp.

Either way, I had the thing tuned to run very very rich with the idling screws... my guess is that it was idling at 1500 -1700 rpm

I'll let you know what the tear down reveals... btw this was a hayes rebuild done about 7-8 years ago...

CORRECT!!!
This was the first car that I bought... so, i'm allowing myself a little learning curve when it comes to not researching enough into the things i'm buying... at least on this one... I was also 18, so the young, dumb portion comes into play.

At least now i'm doing things right. Getting new housings, complete seal kit and getting a nice healthy street port so my racing beat headers, intake, exhaust, and holley fuel system are not going to waste!

YAY! Also having this forum and being able to research and learn from other people really helps...
