Value of GSL-SE wheels?
I'm in the process of turning a 84 GSL-SE into a $500 or less race car. (reg is so out of date you will probably be arrested if you try to put it back on the road)
Anyway, one of the nice things left on the car (it is gutted) are a set of original SE wheels (4 x 114.3).
I've been thinking that it would be a shame to beat these up in a crap can race and was wondering what they worth anything considering they are a "Special Edition"
I'd like to find a less obvious pair of similar size wheels that didn's scream SE and hopefully pocket a little money in exchange to put back onto the car build.
Don't know enough about the vaule of these as "orginal" for people with SEs

You might try selling them on EBay or Craigs list just to see what happens.
Good luck!

Honestly, they aren't worth too much. Maybe a couple hundred dollars if the tires on them are really good. Most people go for the aftermarket look just for kicks and giggles, and I think the aftermarket ones do look a lot better with the spacing and aggressive styling.
It's all up to finding the right buyer though! I sold a set of beat up FB regular rims for $100 not too long ago and couldn't imagine paying that much for a set that not many people really want to buy!

It all depends on condition in my opinion..
I'm going to be selling my oem + wheels that I have completely restored to a high polish finish and freshly repainted when I put on my new suspension, and I don't plan on letting them go cheaply...
Maybe invest a little time and sweat into improving them a bit, and see that return in what you get for them!

When I was looking a while back, I was willing to pay up to $75 each for ratty examples and got no takers. So, more than that?
FC wheels are even harder to find, because FC owners scrap them when they downgrade their cars to 5-lug.

put them in the for sale sections and advertise on the trade sites (Ebay, Craigslist, etc.). that would be my advice. they're obviously not going to be worth it to the majority of people out there, but if they are in good shape, you will eventually run into someone looking to restore an SE.
to be honest, your thread is sort of depressing because i was looking for 2 SE wheels a while back to replace ones that were stolen from me.
