Hey y'all, I was looking around on here about some info on the SDJ headers, and I couldn't find any relatively new posts. Newest being I think 2009? Anyways I'm picking up a set here soon and was wondering how its gonna perform, if anyone knows. I'm gonna be running a bridgeported 12A with a Weber 48 DCOE and most likely a straight all the way back. This is the car its going on. Thanks in advance

Do NOT run a straight exhaust without a muffler. You will probably violate most race track sound restrictions. And you will **** off your neighbors.

 

Or do, and I'll hear it all the way from down here. Seriously just replace the muffler that's on there with another one if it's blown.

 

I use one of these on my street ported 13B https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mpe-14419. Never had an issue making sound with this muffler and they hold up pretty well.

Regarding straight pipes - I used to run one when my car had a stock port 12A in ITA trim. That was until a grid worker found me in the paddock after a race and punched me in the arm for making her ears ring. The corner and grid workers are the reason we have sound limits at the races. Not to mention driving one of these turds even with a muffler can damage your hearing.
