same ol' suspension questions

so i have been into 2nd gens forever.... so long infact that my wife won't let me have anymore.... so now in an attempt to keep the passion alive i am building a 1st gen.... i've been lookin around on the forum a little about suspension upgrades and i have decided on re-speeds coilover's or king springs.... with that being said i have yet to find the amount re-speeds will lower the car and was wondering if anyone had any pic's of their 1st gens on re-speeds or the kings.....

this is a toy, so i want it to handle and look great... i don't care about comfort

also... are tokico HP's the best strut/shock to run with either of these springs/coilovers?

PLEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAASE no smart *** remarks

I have about 1 finger gap between the top of my tire and the fender on stock 13's.

Running Tokico Blues and 425/200's. Respeed/Billy is the best place to order anything first gen related.

You absolutely, positively, cannot go wrong placing yourself in Billy's (Respeed) hands. And, as far as shocks go, if there is any way that you can spring the extra for Illuminas, you won't regret it.

Here's a video from my last race, where I beat every car but 3. This is with a stock 12a, a Sterling carb, and the cheapest tires on Earth (Sumitomo). The top 20% of the field was on race rubber, so besting them on cheap tires was a real accomplishment I think. lol.

the Re-Speed stuff is a front coil over, so ride height is adjustable. he's got coil over rear too.

i'm not a fan of the tokico HP's, the illumina's are good though.

compared to the FC, the FB is setup softer. i'm running 350/175 and it rides fine. in a street car, its a little stiff in the rear, so kentetsu's setup would probably be better.

pics here https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hlight=peepers

i'm running ancient pro7 stuff, so i've got eibach springs. also mine looks f-ing way better on 13's than it does on those 15's

wow kentetsu not much body roll at all in that thing... im lovin it....are you on 13's?

ive been lookin at tires and found a few interesting sizes for the 13's.... i'm dancing between 195/50/13.... or 195/45/13 but i think that might be a little excessive and not many manufacturer options

195s? go big or go home... 225's! rota makes a panasport like wheel (RB), in FB fits...

i'm running 15's just cause i can run the old race car tires...

the RB is popular at the track, they aren't light, but look great seem pretty tough, and are cheap

lol, yeah. Go fatter.

On my stock wheels (the + style wheels), I used to run 205/60/13 and it worked great. I even ran 215s on them without any issues.

Now I have the 215s (215/50/13 Sumitomo HTR 200s) on some 13X8 wheels, and they are very happy tires. The wheels are by Revolution, but they can be kind of tough to find. But 8 inch wide wheels look very nice on the car, sticking out just enough to make the car look like a very tough hotwheels car. Kids go crazy for it!

And yes, the car has damn near zero body roll, even in the hardest of corners. This is also partially due to the swaybars I use (Respeed), which make a big difference in the handling and stability of the car.

I am so extremely satisfied with my setup that I have absolutely no problem recommending it to anybody looking for sporty handling.

I'm also running 205/60-13 Sumitomos on the stock wheels. I like 'em a lot, real grippy. Once I get my snail installed and happy, my next investment is going to be in some ReSpeed goodies.
