SA steering shaft spline size, anyone know?
Howdy!
I have a '79, and would like to put an extender on the steering shaft to get the wheel a little closer to my body (long legs). I'm too far away from my car most of the time, and can't measure what the spline size/count is myself.
Does anyone know, or can measure. Another question: is it the same as FB GSL? I'm putting the power steering from one of those into my SA. Would be silly to get an extender for an SA that didn't fit an FB column.
thanks for your help.

sad to say, 78-79 production SAs have a UNIQUE spline. Or to more correctly phrase this, the spline differs from 1980+ in that one version is a straight-cut spline, the other is tapered. Might solve the prob if your FB PS swap INCLUDES the whole column assy. Then there will be no issue. Then, the next Q would be if the SA column switch cluster will mount to the FB column?
