well i just looked at mine its a 79 SA and the original color is the dark blue, just not sure the paint code, most the door sticker is faded out and its VIN is SA22C-554765 and inner door says 4/79. it most have been one of the last 79's

heres a pic , iknow its alittle unclear and the paint sucks but hopfully soon it will be painted and closer to being done

Except i broke the airdam off it like 2 years ago. so maybe this summer ill get it looking good again.

 

robs seven, the paint code will be on the VIN plate on the firewall, not on the door frame. that shouyld help you out in determining the color. the color may be A7, Marine Blue Metallic.

 

there is nothing but the vin# and the displacment on the tin plate that is mounted beside the hood latch, then the vin is also stamped on the firewall. ????????????

I dunno, but that plate on the door looks like a replacement. Pretty sure it should be riveted in place, not screwed...

its an original plate for sure. i would guess you have an "early" 79, built early in 78. perhaps there is a seperate sticker or plate for the color code. i've owned 15 RX-7's and i've never had a 79. 80 is the earliest i've personally had.

 

as a note, the VIN plates on the firewall are screwed in, NOT riveted. the only riveted plate is the VIN plate on the dash.

 

paint code is a sticker on the back side of the hood.

 

it is original, Mine is the same.
