So back in the day there was a movie called Corvette Summer. It stared Mark Hamill (luke skywalker). well long story short. my dream car was a corvette stingray when I was a child. Now I'm more into imports, but I would still love to have a stingray. Part of the reason I fell in love with the FB was it had some characteristics that were similar to stingrays. Well I want to get a shell and build a seven from the ground up completely custom body. I will be keeping it rotary for sure (I'm thinking 13BTurbo). No LS1 for me. But my idea is to do something similar to the RHD Vette in this movie. Not completely definitely a "rotary" in the tails, not stingray. But similar to the front but not pointed. and a lower profile hood, slightly different design. Haven't decided on the Lake side pipes yet. Probably a wide body style to it. Also I won't be copying the paint. Its not a tribute car. probably won't really resemble it much if at all. I don't really want to do the RHD but maybe.

other Ideas include Roll paned and Whale tailed. and the T-Top. and I'm really fighting myself on RHD. My biggest reason for not wanting it is I hate shifting for people (from the passenger seat). I just cant feel out the tranny as well.

i learned to shift from the passenger seat so i would have no problem, but i understand what you mean

its more of a feel thing. I can do it I just don't have the feel that I do with the left side drive. I think I'm going to do the RHD. I'll learn to love it. and I don't think this will be a DD. I'm looking for a place with a garage. soon as I get one I'll find a roller and start somthing. Maybe this maybe somthing else. I just wanted to toss the Idea around to see what are some oppions of it. I'll sketch some drawing so people can see what I'm thinking. Cause I'm not trying to make a seven look like a corvette. I'm trying to have a one off car.

I remember that flim... Great fun, even if Hamill did have some of the whinyist dialog ever: "But, we laid up that fiberglass together! (sniffle)"

And who could forget "Vanessa?" Annie Potts... yeah.



The car was a class project, as I remember.
