Lightbulb Recommendation on exhaust system

Hey Guys
I am looking for a recommendation on an inexpensive catback system and performance muffler for a 1985 with a 13b. I want quality, just don't have the bucks for anything outrageous $$wise. Also, where to buy. I really appreciate the help. Thanks RX1ers.

How much are you looking to spend? How quiet does it need to be?

open header is the cheapest, but it's the loudest and doesn't pass emissions lol. Seriously though, if you can afford the RB system, get it, it is such a nice sound but it isn't too loud.

I have an RB header and (home made) mandrel-bent straight pipe, with a shiny chrome cannon on the end. It's way too loud at anything above idle.

However, I plan on adding a real muffler to it soon- a Moroso Spiral Flow. It's $55 from Summit and has no packing to burn out. Basically it looks like an auger inside, so I'm gonna give it a shot and see if I can calm the beast.

Thanks much guys. I am going to attempt to find the Racing Beat header used and try to find a pipe to fit as I can't afford everything. I saw an RB 13B header on ebay. I like the suggestion from "TheRx7Project" regarding the Moroso muffler as that is inexpensive and creating the pipe. I live in Colorado and their are no emission regulations. I hate to add to polution but I don't think it should be significant with the suggested muffler. I would be interested in how to fabricate the mandrel style straight pipe. Or, if anyone knows of a "made" pipe that would fit the RB header. Thanks a lot.

just buy the full RB street port exhaust system. the best system that i've ever purchased. a little pricey but the performance gain is excellent and the quality is very good. remember, you'll need the backpressue from the exhaust for your 5th and 6th ports. the RB system includes teh pressure tube necessary to retain the pressure to open the ports' actuators.
