Here's a test fit of my 14x9, 14x9.5" SSR xr-4 Longchamps. They're wraped in 195/45/14 Toyo proxies. The tire is mounted, but not stretched on. No rub!!! I'm about halfway through my GSL-SE susp. swap. I'm just happy to get a little progress to show for the 5 years I've put into this project. It's a bit of a teaser, but so were the previous pics, right?

I was so happy to test fit the wheel, that I mounted it on the wrong side of the car.......Stupid directional tires. What were those engineers thinking?

Thanks so much for the kind words!
How much did you cut the Eibach springs? I have a new set of the Eibach springs but am afraid that they will set the car too high.

I have been wanting to get advice from someone who cut theirs..

I was considering cutting 1 coil and going from there.

thats how it is suppose to be done. half or one coil at a time. Once installed, drive around for a few miles then check the height. it is a long process but safer than "chop chop and then oh shiet, it is too low."

The Eibach Prokit springs are the preferred street spring, imho. Mostly because they're a progressive rate spring that soaks up those little bumps that linear springs just thump when going over. If you cut the lower rate coils, all you end up with is a lowered linear spring that can be bought anywhere. Save or sell the Eibachs and get a set of coil overs from ReSpeed.

I have the Eibachs on the widebody and linear springs on my 2nd gen, both with adjustable struts/shocks. The chassis on the widebody has 224k and rides better than the 2nd gen with 109k on it. That's how much of a difference progressive rate springs make.

I may just try the Eibach springs and let them just settle in. I don't want it too low, but just not huge gaps.

Do you find that the Eibachs sit low enough on your widebody?

You seemed as though you were confused about this, but you are correct Auto Bahn's are Wed's... I'll buy those center caps off of you. I'll give you $50 for them I need them for my Wed's Bavarias.

Cheviot "Hotwires" 13x7

Wooohoo! These were the coolest wheels, mandatory for just about every New Zealand rotary in the eighties. Not too many good sets left so pretty stoked to have found these. Will treat them to a full reconditioning before fitting them

That's like comparing apples to oranges unfortunately. The 15" tires and wheels left me with a little more than 1/2" gap between the tread and the top of the fender lip. The tires are much taller than the stock 13". I had another 1st gen sitting near by with worn stock springs and all the wheel arches measured the same from the ground to the center of the arches.

Are the Eibach's low enough for me, sure, ask my front fiberglass lip and it will tell they're too low.

That said I am thinking of selling the wheels now that I am converting to 4.5" bolt pattern. How does $800 sound? If I don't get at least that then I'll just scrap them, after all I apparently don't care for the car...

Here's the other set of 110mm wheels I have, not counting the two waffles I still have left:

225-50-15 on 15x7 Koseis requires rolling the fenders a LOT for clearance:

When I move the subframe forward I will have to cut a couple inches out of the wheelarch.
Nice car! Looks almost exactly like mine. Mine is also a track car and has gone through the turbo transformation. After some turbo issues with BNR, finally getting it dyno tuned and picked up this weekend. I'm expecting 380hp at the rear wheels which will make it a track monster. I have K1s as one of my sets of Race wheels. Great light wheel for the money. I used to run them on my FC too. Anyone who thinks they do not look good does not understand unsprung weight or much else about performance.

Here is a pic of mine in grid with my Kossi K1s

What offset are those? I have the same wheels 15x7 0 offset and I'm trying to figure out what tires I'm going to run so they don't rub..
