rarest and hottest wheels for 1st gen
Here's a test fit of my 14x9, 14x9.5" SSR xr-4 Longchamps. They're wraped in 195/45/14 Toyo proxies. The tire is mounted, but not stretched on. No rub!!!
I'm about halfway through my GSL-SE susp. swap. I'm just happy to get a little progress to show for the 5 years I've put into this project. It's a bit of a teaser, but so were the previous pics, right?
I was so happy to test fit the wheel, that I mounted it on the wrong side of the car.......Stupid directional tires. What were those engineers thinking?

I have been wanting to get advice from someone who cut theirs..
I was considering cutting 1 coil and going from there.
thats how it is suppose to be done. half or one coil at a time. Once installed, drive around for a few miles then check the height. it is a long process but safer than "chop chop and then oh shiet, it is too low."
welds auto bahn 15x7
the auto bahn may be made by weld racing bcuz my wheels center cap came with the weld logon on them.

I have the Eibachs on the widebody and linear springs on my 2nd gen, both with adjustable struts/shocks. The chassis on the widebody has 224k and rides better than the 2nd gen with 109k on it. That's how much of a difference progressive rate springs make.
The Eibach Prokit springs are the preferred street spring, imho. Mostly because they're a progressive rate spring that soaks up those little bumps that linear springs just thump when going over. If you cut the lower rate coils, all you end up with is a lowered linear spring that can be bought anywhere. Save or sell the Eibachs and get a set of coil overs from ReSpeed.

Do you find that the Eibachs sit low enough on your widebody?

You seemed as though you were confused about this, but you are correct Auto Bahn's are Wed's... I'll buy those center caps off of you. I'll give you $50 for them I need them for my Wed's Bavarias.
Cheviot "Hotwires" 13x7
Wooohoo! These were the coolest wheels, mandatory for just about every New Zealand rotary in the eighties. Not too many good sets left so pretty stoked to have found these. Will treat them to a full reconditioning before fitting them
Are the Eibach's low enough for me, sure, ask my front fiberglass lip and it will tell they're too low.
It's a motor vehicle, not a statue. I drive it about 15-20k per year and spend roughly half my salary on motorsports.
If I didn't like it, I'd slam it and polish it and turn it into some garage queen lawn ornament. Or sell it to some schmuck who would do the same thing, probably, since I hate shiny things. A car that isn't driven is just a piece of metal and a waste of space.
That said I am thinking of selling the wheels now that I am converting to 4.5" bolt pattern. How does $800 sound? If I don't get at least that then I'll just scrap them, after all I apparently don't care for the car...
Here's the other set of 110mm wheels I have, not counting the two waffles I still have left:

225-50-15 on 15x7 Koseis requires rolling the fenders a LOT for clearance:

When I move the subframe forward I will have to cut a couple inches out of the wheelarch.
