Update is that the guy who was helping me with the project had moved out of state, but is returning this month to finish the bodywork and get it all in primer and then painted. We'll get there guys!

Well my painter has been out of touch so I am in search of someone to paint. I have talked to a few people but everyone besides a professional shop is backed up with projects. So I am just waiting and saving for either someone to paint or for a professional paint job.

Also I am engaged so that has somewhat slowed down the process, but lucky me she loves the car and wants it painted so hopefully it will get done soon....Christmas present I hope!

Thanks for the interest in this project and it will get done...eventually.

So the process has slowed. I am getting married this summer and I am hoping for some extra cash from that to be able to get it painted. I really want to get this baby at least in one color

Anyone out there who can paint and finish some body work? My buddy who was working on it moved out of state so that kinda killed the process.

Nice project and good luck man, I'm subscribing as well. Here's hoping you find a hook-up or get some cash!

Don't loose hope!

I think it looks pretty good... But I won't be doin it to mine. Like I've said before I love all the unique things that I've seen people doing to thier 1st gens but the more custom stuff I see done the more I lose the stock body lines.

So i found a couple pictures of what the final project will look like. Not sure whose car it is but it looks just like what I had in mind. Awesome to see what's to come. I have been talking with the guy who had been working on this project with me and he got rejuvenated with the project so hopefully it will get done this summer.

Thanks for the support and I can't wait to get this baby finished

So my soon to be wife has surprised me with paying to get my car painted. She has been emailing my buddy who has been working on it. So I found a paint color that I really like. Here is the paint:

Super excited so more info as I get it! Thanks for the support!

Update-

The car has been up in Oroville WA for the past year now. My friend took it and is getting it painted as part of a wedding present. Before paint, I have had to save for a windshield and a new sunroof so that has somewhat delayed the project but I am going to be bringing it home this summer....finally.

Thank you for following this thread and I am really excited to get it finished. Ill post pics as soon as I can take them

The color I ended up going with is less of a candy red, but more of a solid bright red.

Car is coming home Monday. I haven't seen any pictures of the car so it will be a surprise when I get it. I again have to put money towards other things besides paint. I am not wanting to rush a cheap paint job so a new windshield and sunroof have to come first. I also needed to get new tires and brakes.

Will post pics as soon as I can on monday. Thanks for following and will keep you all posted

I thought I would bring some closure to this thread. Unfortunately I had to sell the car and not finish the project. Sold it to a guy in Washington for $1000 (he got a steal). The painter and myself had a falling out which lead to less than satisfied results with the primer. I will try to get some pictures uploaded today for you guys. Thanks for the support along the way and I will have another rx7 in the near future
