First and foremost welcome to rx7club and the darkside lol. You have found a site and section that has an enormous amount of knowledge and first gen lovers to help you with any problems (or joys however you may see it) when they encounter with your car. PLEASE though take some time and look around. Also the search function at the top toolbar of the page is your friend! There is already a big thread in the non-technical section that is stickied and its all about posting pictures of first gens so take a look there. Again welcome and enjoy your stay. Our first gens are great cars to drive and theyre so much fun!
The FAQ thread will be your best friend. If you want some ideas on what to do you should start there by reading every single link you are interested in. There is a wealth of knowledge. Many of the upgrades are very inexpensive (and some will empty your wallet) so just read and learn. Here are some pics of my most recent upgrade. RX8 seats look awesome and they are oh so comfortable!

A racing beat exhaust is always a good first step, see if you can find a used one cause they tend to be pricey. Im in college too, so i know what its like. Being a gsl-se wheels are much easier to find if you wish to change them, i had to hunt for the ones i found for the gsl in my picture.

If you are into racing at all, then www.re-speed.com will be a great source for you to check out. I started off using Racing Beat equipment, but transitioned over to Respeed late last year and haven't regretted it one bit. I just wish I hadn't spent all that money on RB stuff before I found out about Respeed.
This is my Fb that I have been working on. Needs paint and body work and tuning to be finished. Has ford 9 with 4.87 gears TII tranny with a halfbridge FD motor on a Microtech ECU. Should be fun to drive when completed.

If you are really short then clearance might not be a problem. I would have to sit in it with a helmet to make sure though. Unfortunately I can't do that because I'm in Iraq. If you can wait about a month then I'll let you know. Basically, the seats do sit higher, but since the drivers side is adjustable you might be able to swing it with the seat in the lowest position. It might help too if you raised the sun roof. I don't know for sure, but I know it will be very close. If you are tall then forget about it. I have another thread in the tech section with a little more information. I'll post the bulk of my information there.
