Planted seat brackets
Anyone used these? Im looking to lower my stock seats if possible. I'd like any feedback on them you have if you've experienced them.

I have a set new in box that I haven't installed yet. They had good reviews when I bought them but if you're looking to change the height of your seat (for more headroom) they aren't the answer. They will allow you to mount almost all bottom-mount seat though, so that's good.
I need more headroom and thought the Planted might help fit different seats, but then I found this article about Corbeau A4 seats being a nice fit in FB's, and Corbeau makes direct-fit sliders for our cars. PLUS, the A4's are one of several Corbeau seats available with an inch of seat height reduction (shaved bottom padding). That sounds like just what this tall boy needs, so they're on my shopping list. There are lots of threads on the forum about "what seats fit" but I don't want to gamble with $1000 in "might fit" seats. I want something proven to fit, so I'm prolly going to get the A4's....

For more headroom, I have found a nice solution: Lotus Elise seat on stock sliders with an adaptation frame.
You need to be able to cut/weld steel (even badly like me is enough) but I am very happy with the result.

The inspiration:
https://revlimiter.net/blog/category/miata/elise-seats/
I made a square frame with holes on one side for the stock sliers, on the other side for the front part of the seat, and I welded two of these "ears" on the frame for the side bolts of the seats:

A bit of time and pain, new seats are not cheap but I scored both for 300€ in a fair condition and I spent maybe 10 hours of trial and errors making my brackets and fitting both seats.
It is a firm ride, and I sit approx 3-5 cm lower than stock.

@Mivroum which Lotus seats did you purchase (manufacturer and model). When I searched for "Lotus seats" there were soooo many choices based on year, trim, etc and they all seemed so expensive. Your looks great BTW.

I purchased used oem Elise seats - not sure if they are from an S1 or an S2, but the mounting points are identical on both generations of Elise, so any seat designed for it would do.
EDIT: S1 Elise and S2 before 2004.

I have corbeau seat mount/rails. I would not use them again. They took a lot of massaging to get them in the car. The holes didn’t line up on the floor and the angles on the steel sections that mount to the floor were all wrong. The planted seat mounts look like a much better unit.

Great info. I looove Lotus' in general especially the elise but I'm trying to keep the stock seats or at least the general 80's look, otherwise Id jump on an Elise seats mod. Sounds like Planted isn't the answer. I know one of yall said the Corbeaus were a bit poor quality but do they lower the seat any? If so I think Id be willing to work with them. I'm thinking of fabricating some lowering brackets which would take away the sliding ability but that doesn't bother me. I've installed non sliders that lower the seats in one of my other cars and loooooved the results. Dropped those seats 2 inches and it made a world of difference by allowing me to heal-toe and fit a helmet on while autocrossing. Plus, it lowers the center of gravity for my 220lbs which is a substantial amount of weight and so should increase cornering performance. I might look at shaving the foam too as that might be another way to get lower. Anyways, if someone could verify if the Corbeaus lower the seats that would help. I doubt they do considering they are still sliders which seam to naturally raise the seats.
