TX The O'le Rx7 Story

I Dont know who would if anyone would remember me. But about 6 months ago i was on here discussing my project everyday. Anyhow i quit getting on here, and pretty much was angry at the car, trying to sell it for a great loss of money.... I knew the problem, but havent had time to really work on it. I bought me a new truck which is somewhat a project its self... anyhow the car sat outside for half of the 6 months, when it broke down on a test drive with someone interested in it... (it did this a few times) would run perfect until someone who wanted to buy it rode in it... Well, a guy wants to buy it now, and I dont know if im going to sell it. This weekend i put a few hours into it and got it running right again. Running very nicely actually. I put a fuel cell in it just before i lost interest in it. I have homemade fuel pickup lines in it, and they simply werent always picking up fuel. Thats the only problem, that and i didnt have a very good fuel fill line, to put gas in it. I have the cell in the back hatch at the moment until i get my fill line worked out, then im going to move it back under the car. The weather has started the paint peeling even worse than before and the car has signs of its first rust ever. The car is a 79, so thats pretty sad! I fell in love with the car all over again this weekend, I think im going to go ahead and finish it, All I need to do to finish it is finish the fuel cell, get my rb muffler and presilencer put on it. They have been sitting in the car for about 6 months.... Then prep and paint it. Before I do the paint job, I want to get a body kit, or most of one, I would love to have a back bumper cover and air dam or front bumper cover, and side skirts. And help convince me to finish the drawn out project! Its really a great car, They are just finicky and have a mind of there own. Also, i recall a rubber bushing fix for the headlights and havent been able to find it..... if someone has a link, and doesnt want to get mad that i asked for it.... i would appreciate it. Thank you all for all your support, and I am going to go ahead and finish this lil jewel.

get a wide body. maybe an imsa kit. http://www.racecar2000.com/classifie...-ad-18490.html my person favorite besides the spoiler, get a whale tail. http://www.mariahmotorsports.com look at their whale tail spoiler. my baby was sitting for like 10 years or so and i just got it running, need to fix it up, and get some touch up on body. its a widebody, just not as big as the imsa.

thats actually a hell of a deal...! Unfortunately I cant afford anything like that right now. Im about to actually start building and selling cars, not necessarily rx7s but that would make great advertisment. I am an auto painter/body man, and well im tired of doing insurance jobs bringing cars back to stock... no fun. I want to do custom stuff, and that would be great advertisement being done! Im not sure bout what im going to do with the rx7 but im going to at least get it good enough for a dd, and paint the roof and and one quarterpanel, and blend into the other... that will take out all of the surface rust that began, and 95 percent of the paint that has started to peel! After that, im going to repaint all the black trim black, and the car will look almost brand new, and ill only have about 100 or so in the paint. Not to shabby in my opinion. The interior is almost mint already! Id say its going to be in pretty nice shape. It has 126000 miles on it! Runs perfect.

Cars Specs When Finished.... already have everything except the paint which is nothing. The least of everything ive done.

1979 Rx7 Sa with brand new sterling carb, racing beat universal presilencer and racing beat universal muffler, brand new fuel pump, Fuel cell with custom behind the license plate fuel fill line (like the old camaros and such) the quarterpanel I am painting is indeed the one with the old fuel door, which i am going to shave.
It has a header too! Brand new sparkplugs and sparkplug wires, runs perfect! The car is indeed going to be damn good shape... especially for a classic!
