Old RX-7 Club of America newsletters

I found a bunch of these with some Rotary Rocket magazines a while ago. Anyone else have these? Never knew they existed before. Here's a front page scan of the first issue:

Name: Rotary1.jpg
Views: 382
Size: 117.0 KB

If I ever have the time I'd like to scan them all in and put them in PDF format. Too bad my scanner is just so damned slow.

Some of us are still here. I still have all my old issues of Rotary Rocket, and I had those newsletters around somewhere. I even wrote an early article on carbon locking issues in 1982 for the Dallas/Fort worth version.

My avatar is an early (1982-83) all RX-7 autocross at the Rangers stadium parking lot.

Yea, I have a full set of Rotary Rockets (the official mazaine of the RX-7 Club of America), as well as all issues of the periodical published by the Mazda RX-7 Club (don't remember the name right off hand). The RX-7 Club of America was more of a flashy type club, while the Mazda RX-7 Club was more of a hands on, technical type club. I even went to a couple of day long driving schools sponsored by the RX-7 Club of America...one in Dallas I think, and one in Chicago.

Does any one know of an on-line resource for high quality scans of at least some of these old news letters and magazine articles? Or maybe we could create a library here on the forum by sending in our individual holdings? Kind of like the on-line FSM resources?

I've already scanned in the contents of an early "1985 RX-7 Owner's Catalog" I found on ebay, although it is currently spread among two or three posts in the thread:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...er%27s+catalog

Why don't we file these under a common file linked to the top of the forum?

I still have my copies of Rotary Rocket from when I was a member. There were some hot cars in them.

I was a member of that Club. The only thing I have left is the RX-7 Club of America Sticker that I never put on the car. The key fob that I had disintegrated years ago and I lost my copies on the magazines when I moved once.

I'd still like to find the article on the 13b 4 port engine with the old school camden supercharger set up. :-)

Damn you Doc! Now I'll probably spend the whole weekend looking through all my issues looking for that article!

Rich,

How you doing buddy?

You find that and I'll owe you.

I think that article was at the tail end of 89 or the beginning of 1990. I could be wrong though.

What about us guys with 13b engines?

That is funny. I was thumbing through some old pacifica catalogs tonight and saw an ad for RX7 club of america. Ironic.

74RX4, I have only seen you post twice, but out of those two posts I am amazed. You are an asset.

hands down some of the neatest articles i've ever seen. these threads are extremely valuable and imo, the articles and pictures should be archived. it would be a way of preserving them here for everyone to read!

Rotary Rocket magazines

Hiya,

I have most of all magazines for all years up to 1990.

Missing
1984 Vol 6 number 2
1985 Vol 7 issue 4

I bought these all from Royce Branch RX7 Club of America some 15-16 years ago

Would be great to be able to find or trade for missing issues

Have dupe copies of
1979 Vol 1 Number 1
1988 Vol 8 Number 2 Collector issue x 2
1990 Vol 12 Number 1

cheers

Let's get those scanners humming and start posting some of those classics up here so that we can all read them!

High resolution preferred!

Thanks!
