new project car

ive been absent from rx7 club for far to long, in my absence me and a fellow rx7club member rotor-motor bought a 88' nissan 300zx, this project so far has been fun and i have gained quite a bit of experience with more experience on the way

although its not a rotory powered vehicle, it looks like a first gen so close enough for me ....

so far in this project we have pulled the engine and the tensioner pulley bolt broke and the hole was drilled out from the previous owner, so we wanted to pull the engine first, along the way we are cleaning this car from the ground up

now the funniest part of the car is that since it came from white cloud it is rigged only to work with imperfections throughout the car: fenders held on by wire, bolts not tightened, brake fluid pooled in the interior back cubby, corn kernals in crevices on the engine.....hahaha white cloud enough said.....
ill continue to post updates as we work, and some updates on my car as well
thanks
p.s thank you kentetsu for lending me your cherry pick , stop by sometime to check out the new car

Open the pic in MS Paint. Click the "Image" tab and click "Resize/Skew". Enter a smaller percent value for the horizontal and vertical dimensions. Reduce by the same amount. So from 100% on both to 80% or whatever. Otherwise you'll end up with a stretched pic. Save as _____ and then go to "Open" and right click the image you want and select "Properties". That will tell you the size in kb the photo currently is. Keep resizing until you get the correct file size.

+1 on the irfanview.

Great little program. Easy and powerful. It has a similar resize command, but also has common sizes listed to choose from. You can also use this program to convert .bmp or whatever to .jpg formats, and vice-versa.

Glad to hear you kids are having some fun. Take your time with the hoist, God willing I won't be needing it anytime soon. lol.

Funny about the picture sizing, the forum resizes them for me so I don't have to worry about it. Must be a different version of IE, operating system, or something. Get some pictures up boy!

that hole is from the tensioning pulley, breaking i suppose with the combination of jb weld so it looks bad, but my grandpa has a friend who is a retired tool and die person, so he can fix it for free for me which is awesome, i bought the tensioning pulley today for that and i ordered the new bolt/stud for that, for 200 dollars this car was worth it
more pictures on the way
let me know what you think
kentestu stop by sometime, its right by your place

Where are you guys working on this? Nearby you say? Nice looking workspace. Give me a call the next time you'll be around and I'll see if I can swing by.

Looking good, keep it up.

ugh, its a little more than "get adjustable dampers". Matter fact they dont make adjustable dampers. It's more of "modification" that has been gone over time after time again. Yes i did the modification and i did it a little bit different than the "write ups"

nah going to keep it stock as much as possible for now,
today worked on it for 6 hours or so and got lots of progress
pictures will come tomorrow
today we tore the rest of the engine down all the way to the block, then took all the grease covered parts and the engine block and took them down to my grand parents business -pennisular deisel engines -
dumped all the parts in a big bin of mineral spirits, scrubbed the grease and grim off, then proceeded to spray and wipe all the parts and engine block down with brake cleaner
tomorrow im getting one of my grandpa's tool and die friends to fix that timing belt tensioner pulley hole, and once thats fixed we can proceed with getting a gasket kit and various other little parts then back in the engine goes
also today finished pulling the interior out and onto vaccumming and re wireing becuase the kid who owned it before me screwed with the wiring.....WTF
also tomorrow painting the valve cover

the other pictures are invalid or something ??? i had more of the car and the newly painted gloss black valve covers, good news also the valves are not bent and a gasket and bearing kit is going to be ordered soon, so were pretty much doing a complete and thouro rebuild job, and transfering this car back to its normal look, with th expection of porting the exhaust ports and re-doing the exhaust cause its a POS right now, held together with clamps and tin cans lol
ill see what i can do about the other pictures later....its too late and im tired, got school tomorrow, also let me know what you think on the car
