My New Toy
I have been restoring my Rx3 for so long but I always miss having an rx7. I found and bought this one today!!! Its been stored for a long time and needs a little TLC but the engine was replaced before storage and she purrs like a kitten... I had so much fun driving her home!!! what do you guys think?
Congrauts, if the interior is as nice as the rest, it should clean up to look like a million bucks. Is the Targa band, rear spoiler and front air dam all the factory bodywork accessories? If so, it's not very common to see a unmolested car with them still intact and in that good of condition. A lot of fun per dollar there.

^^^ good eye, spoken like a true married man lol
she just woke from working 12 hour graveyard shift to find me in the drive way
"look what I bought honey"
It looks like it may have come from the factory, Is there a way to tell for sure? The interior is the redish leather and the seats are pretty rotten. There are a few trim pieces that I need but all in all not too bad. The rear spoiler looks like 3 pieces.

They do look like factory accessories. What year is the car?
The first thing I saw was the wife not looking so happy, haha. Mine would have killed me if got a car without talking to her first.

Love the look of that car, real sporty looking with the fin and front grille/bumper. I'd also like to point out that whoever the woman is in the third picture does NOT, I repeat, DOES NOT, look happy... it made me remember something my dad says "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission"
Nice score Nick. Definitely looks like a factory IMSA package. My favorite front end for sure. I have a new one stored up for the SA for on down the road. Clean her up and enjoy it.
That third pic is priceless! I just had" that discussion" with the wife the other day when I towed home my 81 that I had been hiding at my shop for 3 months...lol. Very nice car. I love the front end!
that IMSA kit was a neat oem accessory package that could be bought as a kit or individually from 1981-1985. there are two different stainless steel targa bands available. one is what you have on the car a "TARGA 7" band. the other simply says "MAZDA" on the side. there is some debate as to whether or not the targa 7 unit is a non oem aftermarket accessory. i cannot say for sure whether it is or isn't. both look just as nice and you have an excellent example of an 84 GSL. as for teh side skirts, they may be part of Mazda'a "finishline" product catalog. i don't have one of their FB publications laying around unfortunatly.
