So, this is my third post here(i think) and i finaly got me myself a working(for now) 1983 rx7 for $1000.

now sorry, i didn't really search the answer for this, but on the drivers lower right side there is a switch label "balancer" with right, up, left, down directions. Can anyone tell me what that lever is for? thanks.

That switch is for your sound system, I think. Like the 'fade' and 'balance' *****.

I LOVE an '83 Rex. My first was an '83. Welcome to the club!

Hmm... I've never seen the molding painted that color... That's not stock right?

Thanks,

as far as i know the car is stock except for the sound system.
as far as i was told it was unpainted, and i could not find signs that it was painted.

i sorta liked the colors, but will most likely need to repaint it since it needs a good body job, and needs to have the interior fixed.

it's not bad though and can be driven, it was used as a weekend drive by the last owner.

I will be puting the car on the street tommorow as i start doing body work on my daily driver, 99 tiburon.

Congrats on a fine purchase reisama! That a sweet ride for one grand. The targa top and spoiler are a good looking combination. Don't think I have ever seen a the bumber strips painted red on a black body. Have fun with it! Welcome to the forum!

I don't think your external trim is stock color. Could be wrong.

Nice find though

Yeah the molding was definitely painted at one point in time, why we will never know. Looks to be a GSL though with the targa band. Good model to start with. My first Rex was my 83 S. I miss driving it since I pulled the motor out of it
