New First Gen Owner

Hey guys. I have had a 3rd gen for about 5 years and I just picked up my first 1st gen last week. It is going to be a long process. Engine needs rebuilt and everything needs cleaned. Here are a few pics. Sorry for the poor quality.

Welcome to the 1st gen section. Looks like you'll be busy for a while. Nice looking car(s)

Welcome to the darkside (first gen section) the car itself looks pretty clean nice find. Do you have any plans for the car besides the rebuild?

My brother wants to tub it out and race it but since he isnt paying for it that is not happening. I'm thinking just a clean rebuild and carb and exhaust. Any advice on what I should do or not do?

Welcome BD-
most folks start with exhaust (header/muffler - Racing Beat being the most popular). For carbs, have a look at the Sterling -modded stock Nikki. They can massage some nice, streetable power gains without getting $$-crazy. As you know with your R1, mods can go thru the roof

Thats for sure. OK thanks for the advice. The rebuild comes first. I'll be sure to post pics when I get more. Thanks.
