My starter is going...

My '85's starter has occasionally slipped and grinded - lately more than once in a while. Suggestions on where to get one and what it should cost? Opinions on re-builts and what to look for or avoid? Mine's a manual transmission. Some guys on ebay are selling them for under $100 with shipping. Too good to be true?
