My new baby.. in storage for the next 8 months
Im stationed in Kuwait right now. I was coming home for 10 days so I started looking for my next 7. I found her on craigslist. 1500.00. Previous owner (PO) had already done a lot to get the car back on the road. Lotsa new parts. But it was exactly what I was looking for for my next rx7 project. Weber 48 IDA downdraft blowthru turbo. Engine is already street ported. Pictures give a really good Idea of that I got. I had to buy tires for her to driver her home so I bought the Rota RB's 16x7's and 16x8's. PO was having problems with the fuel system so I order all parts and had him install it to my spec so I would be ready for the drive home.
She was a little ruff for buying off the internet but I knew already with the intake and the new parts that 1500.00 was a good deal for me. I didnt even haggle.
-after market sidedraft DCOE carb
-Racing beat streetport racing exhaust
-aftermarket front sway bar
-lowering springs
Things I noticed when picking up the car.
- little more rust than described but not too bad
- Umm no windshild wipers.... kinda bitched about that.. he got some from the local parts shop good thing to it rained on the way home of course
- there is rust in the tank... fuel filter is pretty bad
- broken driverside door handle
- all the interior pcs had textured paint really bad look
- no wiper arm on the back
- shot lift struts
- paints a little worse than the pics let on
I hopped in and she started right up. but we got two blocks from the guys house and she died. pulled the fuel filter at the tank and blew it out. she started running again. another two blocks and same. pulled the element out and ran to the parts store installed a filter before the carb. by the time i got home it had a bad amount of rust in it.
Back to craiglist--- rear glass no wiper, GSL-SE gas tank, all the interior plastic pcs. rear left marker light cover, door handle, left head light cover--150.00 I gave the guy 180.00 because he delivered.
The plans for the car are too long to type out. but I have been collecting new parts since I sold the last car. this one is a very solid car to start out with. Time for some pics
