My First Rx7

I finally managed to get the old girl started and she made the drive to my house. Here she sits in my driveway.

Not bad for $500 eh?

Man, I'm jealous. That's pretty much exactly what mine looked like when I bought her. One 13b, a gsl-se suspension swap, racing beat exhaust and sway bars, and 2 paint jobs later, I miss my bone stock 83 gsl.

$500 bucks. Owner said it leaked oil when running and it didn't start. A new air filter and a set of new plugs and she fired right up, sending out a huge cloud of smoke out the exhaust. It had been sitting for 6 months so I kind of expected that. I drove it back to my house (idling at about 200rpms) and no sign of any oil leaks. Suspension is good, brakes are good, she ran just fine doing 60mph the whole way back. Only problems I found with the car is the broken radio antenna, broken Mazda badge on the back, and a whole in the exhaust pipe right under the driver seat. Theres very little rust too, nothing bigger than a dime, and everything works. I think its a pretty good find for my first car.

Oh and it only has 116k on the clock. I'll get some more and better pictures when I'm home this weekend

Great find man. You'll have a lot of fun. First did thing I did with my Auto GS was do manual transmission conversion. Plenty of write-ups if you want do it and need information.

gotta get new tires, fix the exhaust leak, and the wipers first haha

Question though. I had a fellow member over at my house tonight and he said he had never seen the FB with a single tip on the exhaust. Do you guys think it was swapped? the previous owner didnt do one so it would have been a while ago if it did happen

Ditch the A/C in MN and go find a 5-speed! Looks sweet. Love the white! (what's the first gen. Mazda-white called again?)

looks great!!! i've owned 30+ RX-7's over the last 10 years and its actually the first dover white S3 that i've seen with gray interior!! thats one to hang onto. definatly do a 5spd conversion in the future. i've done it and have documented my swap with these threads:
