Mazda Appraisers....

Has anyone gone about finding a certified appraiser to give an accurate quote on the value of a car?

If so how does someone go about doing this?

first talk to your insurance company and see what THEY will accept. Mine, State Farm said go to the dealer. If your local dealer (sales manager, likely) is willing to work with you, that might do it. Obviously, any "ammunition" you have showing what similar cars have, for example, sold on ebay or some other documented source, that would help. "Mainstream" appraisals might fall short, since old japanese cars -240Z and a few others excepted - tend to be regarded as "just old cars". The fact mazda made some 1/2 million RX7s isn't going to help.
Good luck
