Well after years of deprivation, using and buying old stereo and shifter surrounds, I've had it.
So I just dropped over $500 for brand new Mazdatrix surrounds and case of Idemitsu oil and premix lubricant. Who says Ferrari and Porsche parts are expensive?

The price is hard to swallow, but you can't argue with how nice new OEM parts are... I always hate ordering them, but always have a big grin on my face when I open everything up
Likely the last time I'll buy OEM parts because they will be long gone the next time these ones fail. Knowing where all the weak spots are, I ran 5 minute epoxy on the back of the stereo surround so its reinforced and thicker. The rear legs on the shifter surround always snap so those got reinforced too.

I used carbon fiber and epoxy to fix mine the last time. DIN-mount stereos put undue stress on the (modified) SA surrounds since they were never designed to be load-bearing.
