has the single early european mirror - and euro lic plate. For some reason Mazda used the Green colored cars as promo/intro-vehicles all over the world (except US), even tho they never marketed that color outside japan. Aussie brochure AND UK "Introduction" brochure both feature Green RX7s

Thats an early 79. Judging from the Rt side hood prop that looks to fold into the hood instead of the fender, it most probably was built sometime in the summer or fall of 78. Could have been a Daytona Blue originally but looks like a custom shade of blue now. Someone has spent some time on her. Looks nice.

I do like the orginial blue and recognized it on your car. One of the rarest colors for the first year too. Your question has been covered in other past threads and am not sure there is a 100% accurate time line of changes and exactly when they were implemeted.
First year production can be sub divided into early, mid and late production vehicles where various changes were made to interior trim, materials, colors, mirrors, dash vents, the A/C control and the hood prop. Early production (spring 78 to late summer) had the hood prop on the right side and it was hinged on the bonnet and folded/stowed there as well.
Mid production (Early fall to Dec 78) and they were still on the right, but folded and stowed in the fender. Late production (Jan-June 79) and they relocated to the LH side still stowed in the fender. A good place to look for original color might be under the carpet. If possibile, ****** a picture of that clean 79 and post it up. Always looking for another nice SA to gawk at!

She's running. The idle is messed up and for a while I couldn't rev further than 4k rpms in any gear. Then I used some sea foam in the gas tank and now she revs better. Father in law has helped me along the way. Parking brake is still touchy. It doesn't work is what I mean. So I got myself into more work than I was ready yo handle. But I still love her.

If the parking brake cables are intact then adjusting the back brakes will help alot, you can do it at the shoes or if it's not that bad you can adjust under the parking brake boot with a screwdriver pulling slack out of the cables. Just did that myself last night so I could drive her to work today
Picked it up from HOZZMANRX7 and have no clue where it goes. He threw it in with the parts car. So I'm confused as to what it is and what it does.

I hate being stumped put I am sure I do not have one on mine, if it were bigger OD I would speculate it mounted into the floor behind the seats as an anchor for say a 5 point harness lol
