Judging interest for rack and pinion kit

I need to first preface this post --- This is not a Group Buy.

I started a thread here judging interest in a group buy. I am locked out of that thread because I am no longer paying a monthly fee to be a group buy vendor.

This project has stalled because the machine shop I was using decided put my other orders on the back burner because they aren't very big. They have million dollar clients that come first. Because of this, the rack and pinion was put on hold. I'm currently looking for another machine shop. I hate being yanked around like this and have lost all respect for this machine shop.

Because of my experience with the BBK group buy, I've decided that I would no longer sell anything until I had the product in hand. Doing it this way protects both the buyer and seller.

I'm very interested in making the rack and pinion kits but I need to find a reliable machine shop. I would also need to front the money to get things made. Once I find a machine shop I'll let everyone know.

I would be interested in a rack and pinion kit if it was a complete bolt in, since I'm not a fabricator. The stock steering sucks but I'm not willing to change to a fc engine cradle.

I'd be curious to see what you're able to make before becoming seriously interested. I'm replacing all the stock steering components on the FB right now and that'll quell my need for R&P steering for a while I hope.

I haven't seen a rack and pinion setup yet that interests me. Why is it so hard to make a good one? Or why are they so rare that a hen is likelier to have teeth?
