Japs Vs. Krauts: Battle for FTD

I truly hope that everybody gets my sense of humor...

Had a great day of racing with the Porsche Club of America. Some of their cars are so sexy they look like works of art. I admit to slight droolage.

Of course, once the racing started none of that kept me from showing them the might of the rotary. This course was very rough, and definitely "geared" toward the high horsepower cars. Just look at the length of that straight! I was topping out 3rd gear!

Anyway, I threw together a funny (I think, but of course I've been out in the sun all day) video of today's events. I hope you enjoy.

Now that looks like a fun course. Nice to be able to let the 7 stretch its legs a bit.

That course was so rough, that for my first two runs my eyes were shaking so hard I could only get glimpses of where I was going. Didn't notice it so much for the last four runs, so I must have adapted somehow because there sure as hell weren't any little elves running around patching potholes between runs.

I just wish I could watch how the car looked during the runs, but no external video. Some of those Porsches looked incredibly fast through the course, especially when they hit that straight. After the first heats, I didn't even bother checking any times until somebody made a comment about it, telling me that the M3 had top time and I was less than a second behind him for 2nd place. We still had one more heat to run, and the M3 and I finishing .4 seconds apart. Fun battle. lol But I knew I had to make up a lot of time on the turns, due to the length of that straight section.
