I'm back and with a new SA

Been gone a long time(can't even get back on my old account as I lost the Yahoo email, I was Crosen91) with school and starting a family had to put up my 79 for a REALLY long decade. And had to put the restoration on hold. Just got her out of storage this year and having to start all over again at least not from square one but I will be doing a full rebuild on the engine over the winter and starting the summer with getting it put back in the car. Just yesterday my new SA got dropped off after being shipped up from Oregon. Have had the new 80 for about 22 hours now. Already put both cars on the registry. The 80 is hands down a complete car even if it has an oil leak pretty sure the apex seals got replaced and the beer keg didn't get tightened down right so I may have to bust it open and rebuild the 79 and 80 together if it damaged the seals. If that's the case I have a long fall and winter ahead of me with work. For now I will be posting picture updates as I make progress on clearing minor rust and prepping the 80 for a repaint back to what the vin tag says I have a few pics I'll put in as a starting point will be taking more to post later this week as I'm just getting back to a point I can get back to my addiction. Still have some stuff to do around the new house and finish some must do renovations before I get into the 7s in full swing, but I'm back I'm funded and I'm getting ready to go hard.

first up we have Sally the brown 1980 build date of 12/79 with the pics I have gotten and the listing photo that made me buy her end goal is to take her back to the factory color the vin plate says of indi maroon Y6. All stock except the stereo and seat covers a few oil lines were replaced with after market before I got her. Will have more scenic pics and snaps of repairs to be made coming soon.

Next up Rubbie 1979 with a build date of 4/78. A decade in a barn has done her a lot of hurt, and I regret all of it. Have a full stock exhaust already to go on standby, for after the 12a rebuild. Before school I had tracked down a rear seat and have it in place. Pretty much starting over, most of the interior I previously replaced is as I had left it. The dash has heavily rotted so I will be replacing that again. I have located a voltage regulator to undo the bypass I had previously done and I still have her original 79 alternator which still tests good. More pics to come.
I have a full 2 sets of the SA alloy rims on the 80 with spares so 10 in total with 2 more sets on the way with parts cars sadly it looks like one of the parts cars is a limited SA. Pretty much to far gone to save and an 85 I can salvage glass out of major rust on both of them the 85 has a good dash but not for either of my SAs. Will have plenty of updates to follow in the build threads. as I have time for my cars and little hands old enough to fetch tools and cold drinks😋. Just thought I'd pop in and make a little thread to reveal the restart of a project that got swept under the rug by time and a fresh project just as I bought my second SA. I'm sure I'll find more than a few first gens to add to the family.

As I said in your intro thread, these are both incredible cars!! That build of 4/78 would have to put the car at one of the earliest I've seen. What are the last 6 of the vin? Looks like its 503148, which would be an extremely low production number! This car could be worth quite a bit if restored!!

That 80 is also a rare car in that the color is very scarce. What would someone paint it brown? Both cars would be just incredible if restored!!

The 79 is SA22C503148 (as far as my maths tell me second Tuesday of April +/- a day or two), I was on here about a decade ago before trade school and starting a family. Kids are old enough now I can move back out to the garage. So I got the 79 out of my dad's barn. Had to put it somewhere when I went out of state. End goal is full factory restore don't know what color yet.
The 80 I initially bought to be a fun car for play time with the rare color it's getting a full body sanding, rust repair and Y6 paint. Having some issues with the omp thought I'd try my hand at repairing the stupid thing, I'm not pre mixing my car. It probably won't be babied like my 79, but it will end up comparable to a show car in the end. Just need to get some kinks worked out and get underway on both of my projects. Still looking for an FB running mess for a rat rod 7.
