I giggled like a school girl today :D

I was in the middle of installing my new gaskets for the RB muffler and mini silencer when it struck me... I wonder what it sounds like if I drive it with no muffler bolted up! So I fired her up and it gave me a little chuckle. Sounded pretty good sitting still actually. I back it out and stroll down the neighborhood street. Ok... maybe it's a TAD loud... I proceed to the stop sign at the highway intersection so I figure "hey, no houses around, I'm gonna stomp on it!"

Holy crap!!! Loudest exhaust I've ever heard while in the car! The higher the RPM the louder it got. At 7000RPM it was echoing through the atmosphere! I was laughing my *** off the whole 10 miles I drove her.

Anywho, thought I'd remind everyone how fun these things are! I've heard all my 13b transplants into rolling chasis with just a manifold on first start up and I've heard this car idle with an open header, but damn. This took the cake actually putting it under load.

RB Nikki intake topper
Pacesetter header (heat wrapped)
RB mini silencer
Mazda connecting pipe
RB muffler removed temporarily

Of course the muffler and presilencer are all installed with the new gaskets so it's nice and quiet again.

That is great, ha ha. I drove a FC once with the cat completely disconnected (I lost the nuts!) and I will never, NEVER do it again.

I drove my 7 around with just the 2nd Gen header on it and holy ****, was that thing loud as ****. Winding it up to 7K, and a few times to 8K (just to hear how loud it could get), really got people to look and take notice. I swear, I could drown out a Harley chopper with that thing. Altho, it didn't help when I was driving beside a curb or wall that reflected the noise back into the cabin.

Very disorienting. But, still kinda fun to wind it up and have it sound like the thing belonged on a race track.

Get an exhaust cut out right after the header and tube it behind the front wheel.

If there is one thing I hate, harleys with open headers flooring it everywhere. I remember when a harley guy was a car behind me one lane over and just revving his bike over and over and over at the red light. So I just took the ol' girl to 7k and hovered there til it turned green. Shoulda seen his face

Oh, and flamage ensued.

The FCs are loud, mine is pretty loud... but Something about the carburetor makes the 12a much louder. It just goes to show you how great of a job RB has done on making such a nice muffler that can tame the 12a.

When my muffler was busted up, I set off like 3 alarms when I started my 7 in the school parking lot.

I set off the alarm of a mid to late 90's Tauraus wagon by blipping my throttle from idle (from 500rpm to ~1200 rpm) in Ann Arbor this past Tuesday night. It chirped a few times, then it went off. RB SP exhaust.

I ran a snowcross car where the exhaust ended at the downpipe. It was intense bouncing off the redline. We painted it pink for contrast.

I have a 1970's car with a big snarly v8 in it, my catt got punctured and you could seriously hear it over a mile away. My friends new I was coming when I was at least 5 min away.

In my neighborhood you can't have cars parked in the street overnight. There is ALWAYS this chevy avalanche in the street.

I make sure that I set its alarm off at 3am.

Hell, If I have to pay $25 a night to park in the street (we have 7 cars) and they don't ( they have had many more warnings than we have, and they have only 2) then hell yeah, I will set their alarm off at 3am every night when I get home.

I dunno, maybe I am just an *******

You should hear a 10a PP with open header.

You think 12a's are loud... 10a's are freakin SHREAKING

yep, loudest thing ive ever heard has got to be the car and driver rx2, bridgeport into megaphone, i swear it sounds like the whole pack of cars, and then this little rx2 comes around the corner.

to put it in perspective, AT a race you can hear them start and warm it up in the pits. so its louder than the other 20ish cars who are on the track RACING
