It kind of depends on what you can purchase all the components for and if you're doing the work yourself. The big pieces would be the tranny itself, clutch / flywheel, master and slave cylinders. Almost as easy to change out the whole pedal box rather than the individual pedals. The starter is different as well btw the auto / manual. The clutch and hydraulics, I'd buy new.

Minimum I'd think would be in the $500 / $700 range.

I will need everything from scratch, also will pay to do the swap. was wondering how much it was gonna cost before heading to a mechanic.

If you're really wanting a manual rx7, and you're not emotionally attached to your car, you might be better off shopping for one that came manual from the start. It'll probably end up costing less, and you can enjoy it right away.

I did this swap on my 1985 GSL.

Last year I sold everything needed to do this swap except for a new clutch for $700 + $400 shipping. This also included the trans cross member body mounts cut from a scrap car. The auto and manual 1984/1985 bodies do not have the same trans mounts welded to the body.

Look at post 4 in this thread.
