Just bought myself a S5 J-spec TII. It'll take a while to install, I still have some other jobs to do (non-car related) after moving to a new place.
The engine will probable be run on a Wolf 3D, I'll obviously use a custom exhaust setup, and I guess a FMIC is a logic step too.
I already started stripping the long block engine, as I obviously won't use most of the emmision control stuff.

Is there such a thing as a Jspec TII engine? Are they just imported secondhand from Japan from a scrapped gen2 with he same specifications as what was sold in the USA and other exprt markets?

Certainly they were different specifications for the 12A with the USA getting the most detuned version due to fuel consumption and emission problems. But for the 13B and 13BT I have not seen details of any differences. LHD and RHD are a different issue.

I must admit surprise at the few people who say they have a turbo engine, only 2% of people who have read the thread Forum members are the most enthusiastic RX-7 owners so the real percantage will be very much lower. Say 600-700 conversions worldwide?

It's missing a bolt. I need to trim the reinforcement under the header panel, as it touches the IC.

The intercooler is the large black Isuzu NPR, with the black paint removed.

Dude, with a little over exaggeration, you'd hard pressed to find more stock gen 1's in Aus than turbo'd!

A small group of us here in Canberra (Australia's capital city) have started a rotary based club. The city has a population of only about 350,000 people. We have had only upto 35 cars at a meet, and of those maybe 4 max are N/A, and only two of those are 1st gen 7s. The meets are made up of a majority of 1st gens, obviously of which most are turbo.

Trust me when I say, that turbo 1st gens are very common down under.

Im in the process, and i found that it is costing about $3000 over my original estimate. Im using a an s5 motor and tranny, TO4B w/.96 AR, HKS exhaust manifold w/external HKS 40mm wastegate, starion FMIC, Haltech E6X, Walbro GSL-392 inline pump, ACT EXTREME clutch kit, Bosch 1600cc injectors w/K2RD fuel rail, 2 oil coolers, electric cooling fan, AN fuel and oil lines. I have all the parts, just gotta put 'em in.
AND to answer WanKeL FD RX-7, yes you could but you most likely need to find TII w/ a good computer and other goodies you will need( like wiring and ign. coils)

I have a S4 13B turbo motor in my S2, I also have some of the components including a GT3540 Garrett. A few things to add, and a little bit of elbow grease and I'll be there.

The inline pump is an additional pump. I mounted mine on the firewall, so no, it's not a direct bolt in.

Well, I don't know... I live in Belgium, Europe. What I do know is that there are different part numbers for Japanese TII then EU spec TII. Now, different numbers don't have to mean different parts.
As for 13B (NA) EU and USA are rather different: we have no cats, still use distributors, have completely different lower intake manifolds and aux ports...
I'm not sure for the Japanese market, I can only compare US and EU here.
As for TII: that's a bit harder, officially the parts are not the same, but they might be 100% identic.

Rotary Emotions- thanks for the information, all I could get was the porting was identical unlike the 12A versions. Regarding different part numbers, I have bought parts from the US and the number was nothing like the Japanese equivalent but they were identical components.
