I think he's got the exact same configuration that I have on my 83. My car has the sunroof and has steel wheels on it. I thought that mine was a GS, because that's what the guy selling it told me. Is there a chance that it is an 83 S model? How can you tell the difference?

I believe GSes had the electric rear hatch release and some other random bits (possibly the four-spoke steering wheel?).

That sunroof looks like factory to me as opposed to the dealer-installed ones (all the ones I've seen are smaller and glass), so pending a shot of the dash, I'm going to guess GS with S wheels. Or were the plus wheels optional on the GS?

The 3 spoke is 84-85 and some of the base SA models had a 3 spoke. Everything else had the 4 spoke. But I think maybe wrapped leather might of been an option on limited and GSL?

3 Spoke? You mean 2 Spoke right? All S' had the 2 spokers. Yeah the GS' will have random extra interior bits like the power hatch release and a dead pedal, etc. Yeah we really are disecting this thing aren't we? LOL

Yeah the S3's had the 3 spokes. I don't beleive S' were missing any suspension components vs. the other models

My 83 GS has rear hatch release, dual amps, 4 spoke steering wheel, and power mirrors.
My 82 GS had a set of steelies and plus wheels when I bought it, so maybe they were optional. Either that or the 82 was really an S...

Seems like the suspension in both are identical.

Yeah, the only suspension change was in '84, when they lowered the rear trailing arms by around 20mm. They also changed the LSD rear ends a bit, and strengthened part of the front suspension, but I'm not sure on the details.

More pictures!!!

There is a good bit of rust, and the underneath don't look good, but overall she looks fine. Contacted Sterling but... he said it looks bad lol..

Hopefully something will come of this, but right now it's at my house =). I'll post more pics of it soon. The snow has finally cleared and it's all melted off. I'll post pics of the engine bay either today or tomorrow.

Looks like you've got a GS, my friend. And a black interior, no less. Did you check the bin rust?

Rust under and around the rear bins behind the seats is a common issue. Thats what he was asking if youve had a chance to check

Oh no thank you for telling me. I have seen some rust around, and I am going to get the full car checked over for that.

I didn't get a chance to take pics as we were busy with my dads old Hudson Jet taking it to the garage to get the carbs rebuilt, but in the daylight with no bad weather, I was able to check around the engine bay.

There are A LOT of disconnected wires, and from my short check on it (I was only with the car for about 10 minutes), I got a good guess that they completely disconnected the carb. There were hoses disconnected, and the air filter was also disconnected.

I was going to get engine bay pics today, but unfortunately it's raining out and I don't want to to try taking pics in this bad weather. On top of that, we are expecting snow so... yeah it's gonna get bad again
