hey just wondering if anyone knows whats wrong with my 7. It turns over sort of fires then bongs out.

 

Dude.....we're really going to need more information. Like ...what kind of 7 are you talking about? How long has this been happening? If you're looking for help you'll need give a better description of the problem.
It's kind of like posting "Help...I'm lost and can't get home". I at least need to know where you live, how you got lost, and a description of your surroundings.

Indeed - What does Bong out truly mean? Has it been fully defined? According to Urban Dictionary:
"When a bong is continuously passed around in a circle 'til someone turns it down cause they just can't smoke anymore refer.
"Ahhhhh!!! Ha! Ha! - Tracy bonged out!"

So.. by that definition. When an RX7 bongs out, could that be slang for flooding? It's taken as much fuel as it can?!

 

i'm guessing by the profile it's an 81. is it starting but when u try to rev it, it quits? i would start with supply first. make sure u have adequate pressure. change the filter. if the filter inside is visible enough and dark in color, replace it. now the carb. work the throttle to check the accelerator pump. it should shooting fuel out the nozzles as soon as u move it. how long has it been sitting? or u've been driving it and starting fine but now have this problem?

 

sorry about the lack of info, like rxtasy3 said it's an 81. I meant to say bogs out not bongs. My car hasn't been working for about a month. Just Recently the starter turns over but the car shows no signs of starting. My accelerator pump is working and my battery is fully charged. By the way I live in Canada not California so it's cold.

 

are you getting a spark? leading and tralling.

 

Sounds like its flooded so do the deflood procedure first. Then make sure you have
a full charge on the battery, especially in the cold up there.

You might want to use some starting fluid in the carb to help it start as well.
Also check your fuel system to make sure its delivering fuel to your carb at the
right pressure and flow rate.

 

Whats the deflooding procedure?
