Ok, so I have an 83' with a Semi-PP 12A, and Holley Sniper EFI. The transmission and shifter are killing the experience. The ratios don't work well with a 9-10K rpm redline, and the shifting feel is also not the best. I have an RX-8 6-speed sitting here that I would love to swap in. The character and power band are much like the Renesis now. I am aware that the stock speedo won't work, that the shifter will be in a slightly different location, and that I will need a custom driveshaft. Other than that, I'm not sure what will be needed. Has anyone on here made this swap before, or have any real knowledge about what is required? I'm ready to make this happen. Any help is appreciated.

 

You'll need a new clutch as the RX8 uses the larger clutch size from turbo engines, you'll also need to fab up a mount that connects to the PPF mounts on the RX8 box. You can use the RX8 slave cylinder, but you'll need to make a new soft line (can't use 12A slave as it will hit oil filter pedestal). The original master cylinder should push enough fluid for the new slave.

You obviously know about the different shifter position, so you'll need to make a shifter relocation mechanism, otherwise the shifter will be in the dash.
