Having a little issue with the pitman arm
So theres some play in the steering wheel when me I turn it counter-clockwise, I belive its the pitman arm that needs to get replaced sence the idler arm is newer... just wondering if anyones had some insight on whats going on or if its the pitman arm at all

Ok how much is some play???? Is it 1mm or 1ft. Don't mean to come off as an ***..... welll a little bit anyway.
This is what you do:
1. Get tape white masking or painters tape works the best.
2. Put the steering wheel at the 12 Oclock position
3. Install tape on the top part of the steering wheel
4. turn wheel from left to right just to the point of where you can feel it start to turn the wheels when you turn it to the left put a piece of tape on the dash as a point of referance.
5. Measure from far left to far right taking into account the curvature of the steering wheel
6. Look for factory specs and tolerances if it falls within spec you are ok if out of spec start checking front end for slop in the gear box, idler arm pitman arm and tierods.

You'll have to look for play in all of the steering parts while a helper turns the steering wheel back and forth. Pitman arm is probably the least likely suspect (they seem to last forever)...
