Happy New Year from OGTA!! And a photo retrospective of 2009

We had a great 2009 down here in the land of no snow, so I thought I'd share it with the rest of your rotor heads. Our first meeting of the year is tonight, it will be chilly (only about 36 degrees F) but there's no snow down here and most of us are still driving the 7's.

2010 should be a good one too!

Now here's the pics:

OGTA photos from 2009, what a year it was!

Cool stuff, I'm gonna keep better track of our monthly meets now. That's one beautiful SP there too, kudos to the owner. And to all of you, nice cars all around. Especially the white FBs.... I'm not biased I swear.

I'd encourage folks to make up their own OGTA cards. There's no reason OGTA can only exist in Atlanta. The idea is that members slip them under wipers of cars they come across, with a URL linking back to the group thread on here. You'd be surprised how quick a good group can sprout! Hell, we can even give you guys a custom redirect URL at mazdameets (the mazdameets.com/ogta URL just redirects to the most recent page of our running thread here on 7club).

It started with a couple old guys w/ 12As, but now there are more young gus than old, I think. In fact, until recently there were several guys that were still in HS.

Good group of guys (and gals). I've made the trip down there a couple times now (weekend meets).

Ray: No lakehouse pics? I know you weren't there, but Holly and others probably have some pics. I have a few pics of the cars at the lakehouse meet. Didn't get any pics of the people, the boat, or anything else since I left the camera in the car for most of the meet.

It's true, our numbers have increased, but even most of the young guys have now become old and many have swapped their 13B's for 12A's. I'm pretty sure the Old Guys (those over 21) still outnumber the Young Guys with 13B's (or YGTB's, for short) by about 10 to 1.

Kent I basically just downloaded the "Best Of" from my photobucket account for that retrospective, there are lots more great OGTA photos out there, as you suggest. We decided at last night's meeting to make our own 2010 OGTA Calendar, so maybe some of the Lake House photos, Zoomfest photos and others will show up there (see the OGTA thread for details).

In the mean time, here's a few OGTA photos from the 2008 Lake House Meet:

And the joint OGTA/OSJC meet later that summer:

And of course this one from the 2008 Zoomfest!:

looks like it was a great meet. but for me to swap my 13b for a 12a.......NEVER!!! as for the rx8 that jumped the curb. how was that even possible? outside of the color and wheels, SP2 looks alot like mine as i have the exact same door molding problem. that lake house meet was i think my 2nd meet, or was my 2nd at the osjc meet. first was at ray's. fun times either way.

Be good to see you Damien, come on down. Zoomfest is the bomb, that's in early July as I recall.

Michael, you know we put "12A" and "13B" in parentheses down here in OGTA land. As long as it has a carb, it's cool.

This thing with the RX-8 didn't happen at an OGTA meet, I think it was over at one of the Crossroads get together's.
