Hagerty RX7 Article

Interesting read, and it's the first time I can ever recall Hagerty giving the Mazda RX7 any love.

Ha! I was just coming here to post this!

And to ask a question...the blue right hand drive one in the article (below) has an orange round indicator or running light near the RX-7 badge on the fender. Is that just a non - US requirement from back in the day? Headlight washers too. There's a wing also, but that must be aftermarket.

The light behind the front wheel was a European requirement and the spoiler was a factory option.
That particular car is a mint survivor, in this 2022 article it had less than a thousand miles.

Round side indicators are European only. I believe they are the same as FC.

Japan, Australian and possibly other RHD exports (besides UK) had indicators in the side mouldings like the US, but the lens is different. US lens has two different sections and some kind of reflector in the middle. JDM / Aussie is the same pattern across the lens.

Here is the JDM/ Aussie style (ones I have restored for my project):

Headlight washers were standard on all RHD export models including Australia / NZ. In Australia we had a base spec "Sport" model that missed out on this "feature". On JDM they were an option on SE Limited (luxury spec) models.

I have used the headlight washers precisely zero times in over 25 years of ownership!

Combination lights with indicator and white parkers in the front bumper were also standard on all RHD export models.

Interesting, thanks for the information. I really like the look of the round indicators. And yeah, headlight washers just use up all of your fluid. I've disabled them in my son's old E46 for that reason.
Edit: That Hagerty article is great! Thanks @j_tso

The 1st gen headlight washers had a separate reservoir tucked under the front right guard beneath the where the headlight motors are. It is decent size too - as large as the windshield washer! There is a nice hole in the engine bay sheet metal there for the filler cap to fit there. It is right under where the factory radiator overflow sits. Not sure whether that hole is there on LHD models? If it is, now you know why!

It is a perfect spot to retrofit water/meth injection reservoir for turbo conversion!

@Jeezus Have you tried 500yenshop.com? I bet you can get them on there. I get kei van parts on there all the time and also did some searching for rx7 parts and saw a lot of cool stuff as well.
