I don't like the sound of that...especially from a car that has been sitting that long. Its a bit of a process to get a rotary up and running again after it has been sitting. Usually pull the plugs and get a little oil/ atf (pick your poison) in there as well as down the carb. Get it turning nicely by hand feeling for resistence and listening for good compression chuffs. From your post it sounds like the new home owner just put some jumpers on it and gave it a go. Hopefully it is just the starter and not the starter reacting to a seizing motor. Good luck with it. Anxious to see pics as well.

I think we're all guilty of just jumping in an turning the key on at least one project lol.

Good luck with the LE, be sure to post pics of it!

yeah my 3rd sa sat for 22 years and so first thing I did was filled the block with hydrollic oil! and a dab of laquer thinner b4 I drainned it but it only had about 9k on the engine! got it tuning freely and it runs like new..oh and yeah pretty sure TN is rebel country but lets not do tht..... and went to look at the car tht what he said was a pretty strait body.. was not at all strait! very rough car! best thing was interior so didnt jump on tht one.. sry guys.. the plan was to swap in my fc sub frame and t2 motor and tranny but it rly wasnt worth it.. which bums me out!! but if someone needs a limited parts car and live near nesbit MS I still have his number still! he said he'd take $350 but I rly dont need tht much of a project right now and I hate body filler!
