Gathering interest on Tear down thread
Would anyone be interested in a Tear Down thread? I am asking because...

I am talking detailed... Not "here is the rotor. The rotor spins. Spin rotor, spin."
More like "there are 22 oil pan bolts, remove them with a 10mm ratchet" Before and after pictures, and removed parts pictures. Also will list parts used/needed for removal, and how easy it is to tear them down (I mean geez, I am doing this on my garage floor with come torn down boxes).
Any interest?

I'd be more interested in a detailed "put it back together" thread like the one rotaryressurection made in the 2nd gen forum.
It think it would be good to show others who have never attempted a rotary tear down just how easy it is.
You write it and I'll read it.

It sounds like a good plan as far as edumacation. I am curious about lapping and if that can be done in the home shop setting properly or the lack thereof. Then again this is a teardown not really a rebuild document concept rigth?
you know what i was thinking, and what would make the thread a bit diferent...if you can record and you tube quick videos over the steps of the tear down. I know that it is more work, but that would make this much more interesting and informative
Disagree on the youtube. Videos are ****. Step by step is handy, something you can potentially print off and use instead of having a laptop getting dirty in the shop.
Definetly interested. As someone posted a detailed process on how to measure everything to see if its in spec.

The thread I will be making will be a simple "How to" Tear down a 12a. After that thread is created, I figured I will make one on how to spec each part, and what makes each part worth using again and what makes it not worth using. Last thread would be a how to on rebuilding it.
Youtube would be cool, I did not think of that. Only thing is I would have to keep it under 10 minutes because I do not feel like paying for an account there. If I do get hardcore into a video tear down / Spec / Rebuild, I will just put it on my website

yeah i love these. thanx man...
ihave seen each like 3 times.the problem: i have not seen any new 1's in months.
...also: i'm not good w/ text (good visual), so i would realy like to have a video with some text references. is almost like a life class w/ a textbook.
